Although we continue to hear claims about lack of funding for our County Highways, the La Crosse County Public Works and Infrastructure committee unanimously approved spending $289,600 to purchase property for a new County Highway department shop.
If repair of our County Highways is truly a top priority, shouldn't we be spending those tax dollars on highway maintenance? Based on the committee's actions constructing more buildings has a higher priority that fixing our roads.
