Monday, April 21, 9:00 a.m. at the La Crosse County Clerk's Office After a close race and an official recount of the votes, I am humbled that the people have put their faith in me to be the County Board Supervisor for District 19. I would like to thank Mr. Downer for his service on the board, and all those who voted in this election.
To represent you better, as a County Supervisor, it is important to have a good understanding of City and Town matters. I have already attended the City Council and Town Board meetings, and welcome other County Supervisors to join me as regular attendees. I look forward to working with the City, Town, and County to improve communication and collaboration between the County and the municipalities. By working together more effectively, we can be more fiscally responsible, and lesson the strain on the taxpayers. I will continue to update huberthoffman.org with important District 19 information and will gladly send regular emails to anyone who submits a request and supplies an email address. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me. I look forward to representing you on the La Crosse County Board, and thank you for your support. Hubert Hoffman 19th District Supervisor La Crosse County Board of Supervisors N5449 Sobkowiak Rd. Thomas Downer was ABSENT from today's recount. This is evidence that the recount was used to disenfranchise the residents of District 19 by preventing then from having a voice at the County Board Restructure Meeting on April 15. Now that the recount is concluded, and the results known, I hope that the La Crosse County Board can find some remedy to almost 8,000 residents having no say in who leads the county. Hubert Hoffman La Crosse County, Supervisor Elect, District 19 608-792-0669 Hubert Hoffman was notified this morning that Mr. Thomas Downer has requested a recount for La Crosse County Supervisor District 19, scheduled to take place on Friday April 11, at 8 a.m.
Clerk Dankmeyer believes the optical scan machines to be accurate, as do I, and does not expect the outcome to change. Although it is Mr. Downer’s right to request a recount, this is something I would not have done had the outcome been different. Requesting the recount ensures the residents of District 19 will have NO REPRESENTATION at the County Board Reorganizational meeting on April 15. This along with the other news of a newly elected supervisor resigning assures that roughly 7% or 8,000 residents will have NO VOICE as to who should lead the county board. When the recount is concluded, and the results known, I hope that the La Crosse County Board can find some remedy to almost 8,000 residents having no say in who leads the county.
